Linda's Story
I have lived most of my life in a part of the world called Kwa Zulu Natal. This is a lush tropical province of South Africa, along the east coast and washed by the warm Indian Ocean. Its history is rich and the people warm and friendly. The Zulu people come from here and those in the rural areas live in villages with a Induna or Headman and the families all cluster around his home and his wisdom.
The area that I love very much is the Natal Midlands. With the fresh country air and miles of picturesque landscape, the Midlands Meander is a firm favourite of Kwa-Zulu Natal locals, as well as inter-provincial visitors.
Since I moved to Hamburg and began my life in Europe I have missed my home and when I decided that I wished to do my own business here I chose to bring the fine work of Ardmore which is grown up in this region and developed by the fine and high standard of art of Fee Halstead Berning. Not only is the ceramic work so beautiful and well made but her daughters are also so talented and have developed a range of the most interesting and exciting design for the home. The tableware, fabric and cushion covers are thrilling.
I just love every story that they develop and wish to share them with my new world here in Hamburg, hence the name L’Afrika (Linda’s Afrika).
